Abstract
|

|
According to the 3rd edition of Diagnositc and Statistical Manual for Mental Discorders developed in 1980, tobacco dependence has been regarded as one of the substance use disorders like alcohol or narcotic addiction.
In this article I briefly reviewed clinical symptoms and signs of tobacco dependence and it’s withdrwal as well as psychological factors contributing to smoking. Various therapeutic modalities were also introduced.
